When you enter a museum, you often delve into something or someone else. However, this app works just a bit differently. Young people are searching for their own identity, where they belong, and how they relate to others. That's why young people learn in this app how to look at five important themes in their living environment: love, family, friendship, the class, and identity.
The digital design is based on the visual identity of the Jewish Cultural Quarter. To translate it into the app, the color palette has been enhanced. This allows for a sense of personalization for each theme. The theme images are generated by AI because the specific images we were looking for did not exist and were challenging to produce.
In March 2024, the National Holocaust Museum opened its doors: a new museum of the Jewish Cultural Quarter. A special and appropriate translation of the app has been made for the museum. The routes cover anti-Jewish measures, hiding, resistance, betrayal, and various concentration and extermination camps. But unlike the synagogue, there is no personal translation made for young people for each object or space. Because you cannot compare suffering. The questions therefore invite you to empathize with the stories of Jews. 'Which anti-Jewish measure do you find most severe?', 'How do you think Jews obtained information about the camps?' and 'How do you ensure that you do not forget history?'
